THE BOTÁNICA LIST: JULY

Welcome to The Botánica List, a curated selection of things currently on our radar.

On Our Shopping Bag: Waimari Kate cotton-voile and guipure lace midi dress

White summer dresses are a timeless staple every summer. We love how elegant and refreshed they make anyone look. Waimari's Kate cotton dress is an elegant and simple garment that is easy to dress up or down. It features a square neckline, tank straps with embroidery, delicate sheer embroidery details, lace inserts scattered throughout the dress, and a smocked back with elasticized panels for a comfortable fit. Pair it with your favorite sandals and hat for the ultimate summer look.

Must Watch: Barbie

As Barbie Day approaches, anticipation grows for the upcoming movie directed by Greta Gerwig (Are we the only ones swooning over all the promotion tour looks?!). Scheduled for release on July 21, the film has sparked widespread excitement and nostalgia, making everything Barbie the center of attention for the next month. The movie follows Barbie's journey after being expelled from "Barbieland" due to her imperfections as a doll. Determined to seek genuine happiness, Barbie embarks on an adventure in the human world. The film is expected to bring back cherished memories of Barbie and her enduring appeal, resonating with audiences who have cherished the iconic doll for generations.

Summer Plans: Dolce & Gabbana Beach Clubs

Every summer we see different designer beach clubs pop up. This summer we are loving how aesthetically pleasing Dolce & Gabbana’s beach clubs are. The brand is bringing its distinctive style to Europe's most exclusive beach clubs through the DG Resort creative takeovers. The renowned fashion house has carefully selected four international destinations: Capri, Taormina, Marbella, and St. Tropez, to showcase their resort takeovers. We are specially loving the Capri and Taormina locations for their décor in the iconic Blu Mediterraneo pattern. It looks straight out of a movie and we cannot wait to visit.

The Restaurant: Saint Theo’s, West Village

A personal favorite of Rush, Saint Theo's is an upscale and trendy Italian restaurant located in the vibrant West Village neighborhood of New York City. Known for its striking decor and lively music, the restaurant draws inspiration from the coastal cuisine of Italy and the enchanting city of Venice. The menu at Saint Theo's features a delightful selection of traditional Venetian cicchetti, homemade pastas, seasonal salads, and fresh seafood, providing a diverse culinary experience.

Our favorite dishes? The polpette, lemon linguine and the swordfish.

Summer Sweat: Pickleball

Pickleball, an unexpected hybrid of tennis, ping pong, and badminton, has rapidly become the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. According to a report by the Association of Pickleball Professionals, over 36.5 million people played pickleball between August 2021 and August 2022, with approximately 14% of Americans trying it at least once during that year. Known for its fast-paced and social nature, pickleball has surprisingly gained popularity within the fashion community. Well-known brands such as Varley, J.Crew, Norma Kamali, Alice and Olivia, and Nike have released collections dedicated to pickleball, while Moda Operandi even launched a pickleball edit. There are also several pop-up’s throughout the city where you can rent a court or take a lesson with friends.
