The Winter Skincare Guide

The Winter Skincare Guide

Winter is officially in full force and while we all love the change of scenery and wardrobe, we don’t necessarily love the dry feel on our skin. Colder temperatures can cause havoc on the skin, causing redness, sensitivity, dry patches and an overall lack of hydration. Thankfully, a few simple upgrades to your skincare routine can ensure you keep that healthy glow all year long.

Follow our skincare tips below to ensure your best skin during the colder months.

Drink Plenty of Water

The skin is our biggest organ and we should be hydrating it accordingly. Healthy skin goes beyond piling on products; it starts from within which is why, especially in the winter months, we need to be on top of drinking water and staying hydrated. We also love using facial water mists to add a hydrating boost.

Cleanser

Great skin starts with cleansing. The constant shift between the cold temperature and indoor heating makes our skin more sensitive. Choosing a richer, gentler cleanser full of ceramides, niacinamide and vitamins will help heal the increased sensitivity.

Exfoliate Gently

Exfoliating your skin is necessary to avoid dullness and flaky buildup. Put aside the harsh scrubs that will irritate your skin further and switch to an exfoliating toner that will improve the absorption of your products. We recommend you wipe away any dead skin cells with a warm towel and use your toner after.

Moisturize

In the colder months it’s better to apply a rich, thicker moisturizer that will lock in hydration and heal your skin. Choose moisturizers that have ingredients such as colloidal oatmeal, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and oils that are clinically proven to increase hydration, reduce redness and improve parched skin.

Face Oil

During the colder months your skin doesn’t produce as much sebum. Teaming up your moisturizer with our Beauty Oil helps reinforce the skin barrier and prevents moisture loss. Beauty Oil is also filled with antioxidants and vitamins that keep your skin looking healthy and glowing.

SPF

Don’t let the gray clouds for you, even if the sun doesn’t feel in full force, SPF is still crucial during the winter. It’s the best way to protect against radicals and premature aging. We recommend using one with 30+ SPF.
